About Deliveroo

Deliveroo is on a mission to transform the way you shop and eat, bringing the neighborhood to your door by connecting consumers, restaurants, shops, and riders. We are transforming the way the world eats and shops by making access to food and products more convenient and enjoyable. We give people the opportunity to buy what they want, as they want it, when and where they want it.

We are a technology-driven company at the forefront of the most rapidly expanding industry in the world. We are still a small team, making a very large impact, looking to answer some of the most interesting questions out there. We move fast, value autonomy and ownership, and we are always looking for new ideas.

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and results-oriented Junior Business Development Manager to join our team in Rome on a fixed-term contract (12 months). This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing, well-funded company and work with some of Italy's most premium restaurants. As a member of the regional sales team, you will be responsible for developing new relationships with restaurants and stores, expanding Deliveroo's presence in the Roman market.

Day in the Life

As a Junior Business Development Manager, your day will be varied and challenging. You will spend time:

  • Mapping out your territory and identifying potential restaurant partners.
  • Prospecting new restaurants through various channels, including phone calls, emails, and in-person visits.
  • Pitching the benefits of partnering with Deliveroo to restaurant owners and managers.
  • Negotiating contract terms and closing deals.
  • Supporting new partners through the onboarding process.
  • Attending industry events to network and build relationships.
  • Analyzing market data and trends to identify new opportunities.
  • Collaborating with other teams to ensure the success of our restaurant partners.

You will be responsible for managing your own pipeline and meeting sales targets. You will also be expected to stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activities.

Why Rome?

Rome is a vibrant and dynamic city with a thriving restaurant scene. It is a key market for Deliveroo, and we are committed to expanding our presence in the city. As a Junior Business Development Manager in Rome, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the best restaurants in the city and help them grow their businesses. You will also be part of a close-knit team that is passionate about food and technology.

Career Path

This is a fixed-term contract (12 months) with the potential for extension or permanent employment based on performance and business needs. Deliveroo is a rapidly growing company, and there are many opportunities for career advancement. With proven success in this role, you could potentially move into a Senior Business Development Manager role, or explore other opportunities within the sales, marketing, or operations teams.

Salary & Benefits

Deliveroo offers a competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience. While the exact salary will be discussed during the interview process, you can expect a base salary in the range of €30,000 - €45,000 per year, plus performance-based bonuses. In addition to salary, Deliveroo offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Healthcare benefits (country-specific, inquire with recruiter).

  • Parental leave benefits (country-specific, inquire with recruiter).
  • Pension plan (country-specific, inquire with recruiter).
  • Generous annual leave allowance, including time off for charitable causes (country-specific, inquire with recruiter).

At Deliveroo, we believe a great workplace is one that represents the world we live in and how beautifully diverse it can be. That means we have no judgement when it comes to any one of the things that make you who you are - your gender, race, sexuality, religion or a secret aversion to coriander. All you need is a passion for (most) food and a desire to be part of one of the fastest-growing businesses in a rapidly growing industry.

We are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in all aspects of our hiring process. We recognise that some candidates may require adjustments to apply for a position or fairly participate in the interview process. If you require any adjustments, please don't hesitate to let us know.
