As a Delivery Driver in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, you will play a vital role in ensuring timely and safe delivery of radiopharmaceutical medications to healthcare providers. This full-time position offers a $1000 new hire sign-on bonus and features a primary schedule of Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 3:30pm, with on-call rotation every 8 weeks (4:00pm to 3:00am) and every 4th weekend (5:00am to 10:00am). Flexibility is key, as schedules may adjust based on business needs. Deliveries occur in all weather conditions, day and night, supporting critical patient care.
Your daily duties will include preparing and executing deliveries on assigned routes using a company vehicle. You will package radiopharmaceutical medications for shipment, conduct necessary testing, and handle loading/unloading of containers while adhering to strict safety protocols. Utilizing a handheld tablet, you'll scan orders for accuracy, access route information, and optimize navigation for efficiency.
Additional tasks encompass processing customer returns, maintaining vehicles in optimal condition with minor roadside repairs, and performing general facility cleaning. You'll demonstrate proficiency in systems like the Isotrac technology-assisted packaging and route optimization tools. Ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, radiation safety standards, and biohazard handling is paramount. Responsibilities also include verifying shipment labels, preparing receipts, managing waste disposal, maintaining accurate log books, and participating in mandatory training on topics such as HIPAA, blood-borne pathogens, and safe driving procedures.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience (preferred), be at least 18 years old, and possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. A CDL or Hazmat endorsement is required due to the specialized nature of radiopharmaceutical transport.
Physical demands include lifting containers up to 75 pounds, prolonged sitting/standing, mobility, and operating vehicles for extended periods. Comfort driving in all weather and lighting conditions is essential. Prior delivery experience is advantageous, along with strong customer service and communication skills.
