Principal Reliability Engineer

What you’ll achieve
As a vital member of our cross-functional engineering team, you will be instrumental in delivering infrastructure hardware solutions for our enterprise customers.  Your primary responsibility will be to ensure exceptional reliability by collaborating on design tradeoffs that also optimize time-to-market, cost, manufacturability, and serviceability.

You will:

• Lead reliability validation efforts for server products, ensuring compliance with defined performance and quality standards.

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, suppliers, and certified third-party laboratories to achieve reliability objectives. Define and communicate validation requirements through formal documentation, including Statements of Work and Functional Plans.

• Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, including schedules, methodologies, and custom fixtures to support product validation.

• Manage supplier reliability laboratories and associated resources, providing technical guidance on validation procedures, failure analysis, and corrective actions.

• Implement standardized qualification and investigative test plans; monitor execution and deliver detailed reporting of results. Continuously refine test methodologies based on historical data and evolving product requirements.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.

• Practical experience in server product reliability testing and quality assurance, including environmental testing such as thermal cycling, temperature/humidity, power cycling, and altitude simulation.

• Familiarity with Design for Reliability (DfR) principles and their application in IT hardware development.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in debugging complex systems.

• Solid understanding of reliability test equipment and laboratory procedures. Demonstrated capability in hardware/software failure analysis, and in advancing test methodologies and equipment.
