Your work profile:

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Storage & Backup Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep expertise in on-premise data center environments. The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise storage and backup infrastructures, ensuring high availability, scalability, data protection, and disaster recovery readiness. This role requires strong hands-on knowledge of SAN/NAS storage, backup platforms, replication technologies, and data lifecycle management.

• Storage Architecture & Operations
• Design and manage enterprise-grade storage solutions (SAN, NAS, DAS, Object Storage).
• Oversee storage provisioning, performance optimization, and capacity planning.
• Implement storage tiering, replication, and high-availability solutions.
• Backup & Recovery Strategy
• Architect and manage enterprise backup & recovery solutions (e.g., Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, Veeam, Dell EMC Networker, IBM Spectrum Protect).
• Define and implement backup policies, retention strategies, and data lifecycle management.
• Lead disaster recovery (DR) planning, testing, and execution.
• Data Protection & Compliance
• Ensure data integrity, availability, and compliance with enterprise and regulatory standards.
• Implement encryption, data masking, and secure archival strategies.
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams for audits and certifications.
• Technology Integration & Optimization
• Integrate storage and backup platforms with VMware, Hypervisors, and enterprise applications.
• Drive automation and orchestration for storage/backup provisioning and monitoring.
• Recommend technology upgrades, refreshes, and consolidation initiatives.
• Collaboration & Leadership
• Act as a trusted advisor for storage and backup strategy in large-scale on-premise environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Compute, Network, Cloud, Security).
• Provide guidance and mentorship to infrastructure engineers and operations teams.

Location and way of working:

• Base location: Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad,Coimbatore & Chennai

• This profile involves occasional travelling to client locations.
• Hybrid is our default way of working. Each domain has customized the hybrid approach to their unique needs.

Your role :

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in storage and backup architecture, engineering, and operations.
• Strong expertise in:
• Enterprise storage systems – Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE, IBM, Hitachi, Pure Storage.
• Backup & recovery solutions – Veritas, Commvault, Veeam, Rubrik, Cohesity.
• Replication, snapshots, and archival technologies.
• Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity planning.
• Storage networking (FC, iSCSI, FCoE).
• Hands-on experience integrating storage/backup with VMware, Hyper-V, and databases (Oracle, SQL Server, SAP, etc.).
• Knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, PowerShell, Python, REST APIs).
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
