About the Role

The Head of Reefer Development, China, is a pivotal leadership role within DHL's Global Forwarding division, tasked with spearheading the growth of the reefer (refrigerated) cargo business in one of the world's largest logistics markets. Reporting to senior regional management, you will drive strategic initiatives to expand DHL's footprint in perishable goods logistics, a critical segment fueled by China's booming agri-food exports and imports. Your primary mandate is to identify and cultivate anchor customers in perishables—such as fresh produce, pharmaceuticals, and seafood exporters—to secure consistent base load volumes, ensuring high utilization of reefer assets and optimizing profitability.

Key responsibilities include leading business development efforts, forging partnerships with key industry players, and aligning local reefer strategies with DHL's global and regional objectives. This involves market analysis, competitive intelligence, pricing strategies, and cross-functional collaboration with operations, sales, and supply chain teams to deliver seamless cold chain solutions. You will champion innovation in reefer technologies, sustainability practices, and digital tools to meet evolving customer demands for temperature-controlled reliability.
