Role Overview

As Director, Data Science - Measurement & Optimization at Gilead Sciences, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic business decisions through advanced analytics. Reporting to the Senior Director, Data Science – AI & Optimization, this position is based in Parsippany, New Jersey. You will lead measurement solutions and resource optimization for commercial markets across therapeutic areas, with a focus on marketing mix models and pharmaceutical measurement frameworks. This individual contributor role, supported by offshore data scientists, requires hands-on expertise, collaboration with insights, commercial ops, and omnichannel teams, and staying ahead of emerging AI trends like Generative AI. Occasional travel to global Gilead sites may be required.

Key Responsibilities

In this leadership position, you will spearhead data-driven initiatives that directly impact Gilead's commercial success in HIV treatments, oncology innovations, and inflammatory disease therapies.

• Lead the development and delivery of models like marketing mix, resource allocation using techniques such as ANCOVA, Bayesian Statistics, Econometrics, and Neural Networks.
• Oversee A/B and multi-variate experiments to assess tactic effectiveness and recommend modifications.
• Design KPIs to track ROI, engagement, lift, and campaign impact post-implementation.
• Understand commercial objectives and deploy scalable data science products influencing marketing, sales, and medical decisions.
• Manage end-to-end data science projects, from business questions to solutions, guiding offshore teams with hands-on coding.

Additional Duties

Qualifications & Requirements

• Basic: Bachelor's Degree with 12 years' experience OR Master's Degree with 10 years' experience in data science or related fields.
• Expertise in marketing mix models, measurement frameworks, statistics, and AI/ML methodologies.
• Proven hands-on skills in coding, debugging, and leading data science projects.
• Strong communication to bridge business and technical teams, plus leadership for offshore guidance.
• Familiarity with digital/AI trends, particularly Generative AI for benchmarking.
