Role Overview

The Director, Data Science - Measurement & Optimization role at Gilead Sciences in Uxbridge, United Kingdom, is a pivotal individual contributor position reporting to the Senior Director, Data Science – AI & Optimization. Key Responsibilities

Lead the charge in advanced analytics:

• Develop and deliver models like marketing mix and resource allocation using techniques such as ANCOVA, Bayesian Statistics, Econometrics, Neural Networks, and Logistic Regression.
• Oversee A/B and multivariate experiments to assess marketing and sales tactics, iterating based on results.
• Design KPIs for measuring ROI, engagement, lift, and campaign impact.
• Convert business objectives into scalable data science products influencing marketing, sales, and medical decisions.
• Manage end-to-end data science projects, providing hands-on guidance to offshore teams, coding, debugging, and stakeholder communication.
• Foster a measurement culture, incorporating feedback to refine models and create reproducible propensity models.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel as Director, Data Science - Measurement & Optimization, bring:

• Strong working knowledge of machine learning algorithms including regression, clustering, neural networks, Bayesian models, RNN, CNN, tree-based methods (RF, XGB, LightGBM), and SMOTE.
• Proven experience building and implementing AI-based solutions with measurable business impact, especially in pharmaceutical commercial domains.
• Hands-on leadership to manage initiatives independently, with expertise in coding and debugging.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to abstract technical complexities for stakeholders.
