Key Responsibilities at Datadog

  • Recruit, manage, train, and launch high-performing central government sales team focused on new contracts and customer expansion
  • Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets through strategic team leadership and execution
  • Monitor AE performance using key metrics like deal size, win rates, and forecast accuracy to accelerate growth
  • Coach account executives on building C-level relationships and navigating complex enterprise negotiations
  • Develop and execute comprehensive Go-To-Market strategies tailored to public sector needs
  • Partner with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success teams to create targeted messaging, sales enablement materials, and customer journey maps
  • Lead weekly forecast meetings and pipeline reviews to maintain sales momentum
  • Participate in and lead customer meetings, closing strategic deals while supporting direct reports
  • Leverage internal resources and executive sponsors for complex federal government opportunities

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 5+ years public sector sales leadership experience specifically in FED/government domains with proven team building success
  • Demonstrated ability leading high-performing B2B technology sales teams in public or enterprise segments
  • Expertise managing complex sales cycles involving legal, procurement, and multiple stakeholders with value-based pricing
  • Deep C-level selling experience within IT/observability solutions to government executives
  • Proven track record setting ambitious sales targets and coaching teams to consistent overachievement
  • Individual contributor success with passion for sharing relevant closing techniques in growth environments
  • Tokyo-based with willingness for domestic Japan travel and up to 4 annual international trips (US/APAC)
