Role Overview
The Director of Compliance reports directly to the Chief Compliance Officer and owns the complete Security Compliance agenda. You'll oversee design, implementation, and continuous improvement of MongoDB's security compliance vision across our MongoDB Atlas multi-cloud platform spanning AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
This leadership position manages a team of 10 compliance professionals while collaborating across engineering, product, and sales teams. With deep expertise in FedRAMP, SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, and HIPAA, you'll ensure MongoDB maintains compliance leadership in the AI-driven database market.

- Strategic Leadership: Lead enterprise Security Compliance function aligning activities with business priorities, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices
- Roadmap Development: Establish comprehensive compliance strategy and roadmap ensuring operational maturity, scalability, and continuous improvement
- Team Management: Build, mentor, and lead high-performing team of 10 professionals operating with discipline, precision, and urgency
- Audit Mastery: Direct all external audit and certification activities including SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, PCI-DSS, HIPAA ensuring zero delays
- Project Management: Lead end-to-end audit project management from scoping through remediation tracking with full traceability
- Executive Reporting: Create dashboards and deliver presentations to senior leadership and governance forums
- Process Innovation: Develop structured workflows, templates, and reporting mechanisms enhancing transparency and efficiency
- Risk Mitigation: Identify process gaps early and drive decisive remediation through root cause analysis
- Cross-Functional Influence: Provide expert guidance across Global Security Office and business units
Qualifications & Requirements
- 15+ years Information Security/Compliance experience with 5+ years leadership at SaaS/Cloud technology companies
- Deep hands-on FedRAMP and NIST 800-53 expertise including ATO and POAM management
- Proven success managing complex external audits across SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, HIPAA
- Professional certifications: CISA, CISSP, CISM, or CRISC preferred
- Exceptional communication translating regulatory requirements into actionable developer tasks
- Experience leading distributed compliance teams of 10+ professionals
Salary & Benefits
