Join CrowdStrike as the Director of Engineering, Sensor Quality in this hybrid role based near our Sunnyvale, CA office (with flexibility near Austin, TX). You'll be a hands-on test and quality leader ensuring the highest standards for all Falcon Sensor releases. Your focus will be validating compatibility in real customer environments and end-to-end scenarios across the Falcon platform. This strategic position demands deep expertise in operating systems, kernel-level testing, front-end/UI, and building comprehensive automation that mirrors enterprise usage. Expect approximately two days per week in-office to collaborate with sensor organization leaders. With a disclosed salary range of $195,000 - $290,000 USD (plus equity and benefits), this is an opportunity to shape cybersecurity quality at scale.
Design and implement a quality engineering strategy validating CrowdStrike products in real-world customer environments. Test across all features, operating systems, and third-party applications. Engage C-suite to practitioners to build confidence in our quality approach.
Build and oversee test frameworks for robust E2E validation of OS/kernel interactions, UI, backend services, hardware, and app compatibility. Collaborate with release teams in content, UI, and cloud for full scenario coverage.
Lead teams in performance and longevity testing to minimize Falcon sensor overhead on endpoints. Ensure robustness under stress for long-term endpoint stability.
Analyze endpoint telemetry, integrate feedback into testing, and drive continuous product quality improvements.
Partner with product, engineering, support, and ops teams. Define KPIs like customer defects, test coverage, and release quality. Mentor and expand a high-performing QE team while managing risks across the SDLC.
To succeed, you need 15+ years in quality engineering, including 10+ in leadership. Proven expertise in E2E QA strategies covering OS/kernel, UI, and cloud validation is essential. Hands-on experience with test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and incorporating customer issues is required. Strong leadership, communication, and Agile experience are key. Preference for cloud architectures, security testing, and distributed systems knowledge. This hybrid role supports our remote-first culture with in-office collaboration.
