The Director, Sportswear Specialty Sales Pacific is a pivotal leadership role within Nike's Pacific Nike Marketplace Partners (Wholesale) team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Nike Marketplace Partners, you will manage key relationships with Sportswear Specialty partners like Accent Group and Sportswear Authenticators. This position demands a commercially astute leader with deep retail expertise to drive brand elevation, mutual growth, and premium execution across the Aus/NZ landscape. Based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, you'll collaborate across Sales, Merchandising, Planning, Marketing, Legal, and Operations to deliver Nike's vision.
As Director, Sportswear Specialty Sales Pacific, you'll spearhead initiatives that extend Nike's reach and enhance partner performance. Your core duties include forging head office relationships to build goodwill and align on Nike's strategic direction. You'll co-create and own the Accent Group Strategic Plan, championing growth, elevating consumer journeys across multiple banners, and expanding market share. Lead cross-functional teams through seasonal Go To Market (GTM) gates, ensuring customer alignment and priority execution. Drive sustainable, profitable growth while delivering accountability on key FY sales, revenue, and inventory metrics. Collaborate on retail and operational capabilities to realize the integrated marketplace vision, and own processes like strategic planning, franchise management, seasonal sell-in, trading terms, and performance reviews.
Build and nurture executive-level relationships with external partners, ensuring premium Nike brand execution at retail. Influence and align strategies that serve consumers better amidst competitors.
Directly accountable for business results, interpreting analytics to make data-driven decisions that impact sales and profitability.
Nike seeks a self-motivated, strategic problem solver with a proven track record in retail leadership. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or at least 10 years of experience in Retail, Sales, Merchandising, or similar. Expertise in retail stores, sales, digital, product, partner management, and financial acumen is essential. A strong understanding of the Pacific sport and retail landscape, including sports and lifestyle apparel/footwear markets, is preferred. You must demonstrate high attention to detail, a proactive approach, and the ability to manage multiple senior external stakeholders. Exceptional communication and influence skills in complex matrix environments are critical, alongside comprehensive knowledge of retail, business, and commercial metrics/KPIs. Experience navigating internal and global stakeholders to manage results and strategy sets top candidates apart.
