The Director, US Medical Affairs, BIC/LEN Commercialization Team Lead, is a pivotal leadership position within Gilead's US Medical Affairs (USMA) organization. Reporting to the Executive Director of the HIV Treatment Strategy team, this role focuses on supporting the commercialization strategy for the BIC/LEN portfolio—key HIV therapies. Based in Foster City, California, you'll ensure medical alignment with brand objectives, collaborate across functions, and drive initiatives that advance HIV treatment and future launches. This office-based position involves up to 25% travel for meetings and conferences.
Serve as the primary medical and scientific expert for the BIC/LEN portfolio, guiding commercialization strategies and supporting marketing teams. Act as a liaison between US Medical Affairs, Global Medical Affairs, and US/Global Commercial teams. Provide critical medical input into brand planning, lifecycle management, and commercialization efforts, while representing Medical Affairs in key team meetings.
Effectively communicate medical initiatives, strategies, timelines, and publication plans to commercial stakeholders. Partner with Legal, Regulatory, Clinical, and Public/Government Affairs to execute cross-functional projects seamlessly.
Offer medical expertise for US commercial activities, including planning and presenting at Scientific Advisory Boards. Contribute to Promotional Review Committee (PRC) discussions, ensuring scientific accuracy in materials and campaigns for BIC/LEN.
Review and enhance commercial training materials for sales and clinical liaison teams. Deliver presentations at midyear and national meetings, and support tactical planning workshops.
Lead medical support for BIC/LEN portfolio commercialization and launch activities, aligning with local strategic cross-functional plans.
Basic qualifications include a BS/BA with 12+ years of experience, MS/MA with 10+ years, PhD/PharmD with 8+ years, or MD with 4+ years. HIV experience is required, with preference for MD, DO, NP, PA, PharmD, or other advanced healthcare degrees and 6+ years in industry/clinical HIV roles. Candidates need 3-5 years of pharma experience, ideally with leadership. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with adherence to US Medical Affairs regulations. Preferred skills encompass medical information, slide development, medical writing, project management, and strong organizational abilities to juggle multiple projects.
