Role Overview

The Director, Value & Access position at Gilead Sciences in Foster City, California, is a strategic leadership role within the Global Value & Access (GV&A) team for HIV Treatment. Reporting to the Senior Director, GV&A HIV Treatment, this role drives market access, reimbursement, and uptake strategies for Gilead's HIV portfolio across core markets including the US, EU4, UK, Canada, China, and Japan. Key Responsibilities

As Director, Value & Access, you will lead high-impact initiatives in a matrixed environment:

• Develop and implement GV&A strategies, launch plans, and lifecycle management to optimize access, reimbursement, and uptake in G9 markets (US, EU4, UK, Canada, China, Japan).
• Partner with Global Strategic Marketing (GSM), Global Medical Affairs (GMA), and cross-functional teams to define global brand strategy with market access and pricing input.
• Collaborate with key affiliates and regional leads for aligned market access launch planning and execution.
• Lead payer, pricing, access, and competitive research to identify value drivers, trends, and test value messages.
• Define evidence needs, develop integrated evidence generation strategies, payer materials, and negotiation support for launches and in-line products.
• Build V&A stakeholder engagement priorities, plans, timelines, and tools across key markets.
• Integrate V&A input into R&D, Medical Affairs, and commercial strategies for clinical development and commercialization.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 12+ years in biotech/pharma market access; MS/MA with 10+ years; or PhD with 8+ years.
• HIV disease area experience and market knowledge preferred.
• Strong understanding of global/US payer environments, including coverage, reimbursement, pricing, contracting, formulary management, HTA, and payment policy.
• Global experience advantageous; expertise in strategic pricing, contracting, negotiation, and policy development.
• Proven experience in V&A strategies, market access value messages, integrated evidence planning, launch planning, and execution.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in matrix environments, influence across functions/levels, and facilitate as a skilled negotiator.
