Reporting directly to the Head of Asia Pacific Public Policy, you'll ensure seamless operations between Discord's policy, legal, trust & safety, and communications teams. With gaming representing 90% of Discord's user base and 1.5 billion hours of playtime monthly, your work will safeguard the platform that powers global gaming communities.

Key Responsibilities

As a Public Policy Analyst, your impact will span research, coordination, and execution:

• Conduct comprehensive research, analysis, and writing to inform Discord's public policy strategy across APAC countries including Australia, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia.
• Monitor legislative developments, regulatory proposals, and government consultations affecting digital platforms and gaming.
• Support critical information flows between policy team members and cross-functional partners in Legal, Trust & Safety, Product, and Communications.
• Efficiently respond to or escalate internal stakeholder requests, ensuring timely policy support.
• Facilitate end-to-end processes and approvals for high-stakes external engagements with governments and policymakers.
• Partner cross-functionally to develop responses to regulatory inquiries and policy consultations.
• Prepare executive briefings, talking points, and background materials for leadership meetings.
• Track engagement metrics and outcomes using advanced workflow tools.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for compliance and institutional knowledge.
• Coordinate policy events, workshops, and relationship-building activities.
• Assist in crisis response for policy-related incidents impacting Discord users.
• Champion diversity, inclusion, and belonging within all policy initiatives.
• Identify emerging policy risks and opportunities in the rapidly evolving gaming sector.
