Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with fullstack engineers to build robust checkout and payments systems supporting existing revenue lines and enabling new streams across all platforms.
- Take full ownership of features: define technical specifications, implement code, test thoroughly, and deploy to production.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product Managers, Designers, Customer Experience teams, Data Scientists, and feature owners to evolve our commerce platform.
- Empower feature teams by providing scalable tools and platform support for rapid monetization product launches.
- Enhance system reliability through advanced observability, monitoring, and stability improvements for high-scale payments handling 200M+ users.
- Integrate global payment processors, handling diverse methods, currencies, and compliance requirements.
- Design and implement localized pricing models, discount engines, and trial systems optimized for user conversion.
- Optimize payment flows for seamless user experiences pre-, during, and post-gaming sessions.
- Scale infrastructure to support explosive growth in Discord's premium offerings like Nitro.
