Export Analyst Role Overview

The Export Operations Analyst plays a critical role in safeguarding our global trade activities by ensuring adherence to U.S. and international export regulations. This position combines technical expertise with a proactive compliance mindset to support seamless operations across our worldwide network.

Key Responsibilities

  • HTS and ECCN Classification:
    • Accurately determine Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN) for products, technology, and software.
    • Maintain classification records and ensure alignment with evolving regulatory requirements.

  • Restricted Party List (RPL) Screening:
    • Conduct screenings against government and internal restricted party lists.
    • Investigate and resolve potential matches to mitigate compliance risk.

  • License Determination & Management:
    • Assess export transactions for license requirements under EAR, ITAR, and other applicable regulations.
    • Prepare and submit export license applications and maintain compliance documentation.

  • Export Documentation & Recordkeeping:
    • Ensure accurate preparation and retention of export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and shipping instructions.
    • Support audits and internal reviews by maintaining complete and organized records.

  • Regulatory Compliance & Risk Mitigation:
    • Monitor regulatory changes and implement process updates to maintain compliance.
    • Provide guidance and training to internal partners on export compliance requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in export compliance or global trade operations.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. export regulations (EAR, ITAR) and international trade laws.
  • Proficiency in HTS and ECCN classification methodologies.
  • Experience with RPL screening tools and export license application processes.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with SAP GTS or similar global trade management systems.
  • Certification such as CUSECO (Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer) or similar is a plus.
