The Project Engineer is responsible for the technical, architectural, and facilities engineering project coordination and integration of Design & Planning (D+P) disciplines, from conceptual design through construction for a specific land, park, or resort project. This includes coordination efforts with Creative, Show, and Ride teams.

You will report to the Studio Executive Design Management and Engineering.

This is a Project Hire/Internal Assignment position without any guarantee of permanent placement.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide architecture and facilities engineering project coordination and integration from conceptual design through construction
  • Facilitate technical coordination of design documents, models, specs, and basis of design among design disciplines and across Walt Disney Imagineering Divisions (Show, Ride, Creative), and in consideration of programmatic requirements (Operational Partners)
  • Proactively build, maintain, and track Issues Resolution Log (IRL) or similar documents, including collecting design issues, assigning responsible parties, and tracking status and commitments that result from design reviews and meetings
  • Organize and facilitate big room/ICE (Integrated Concurrent Engineering) sessions and design reviews
  • Prepare and handle directives, submittals, justification for change, etc
  • Quality assurance and control, both design documentation as well as field construction
  • Coordinate the document release process between disciplines and the document control specialist
  • Maintain and supervise project plans and schedules
  • Supervise projects and coordinate all team members to keep workflow on track.
  • Track facility punch lists.
  • Provide technical feedback to assist with project decision-making and settling contractor change orders.
  • Resolve questions arising from construction documents, field conditions, and contractor requests for information.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Interact and communicate efficiently with a project team, including field leaders and key department representatives
  • Coordinate with design disciplines in all divisions through frequent discussions and work sessions
  • Solid understanding of Building Information Management (BIM), Revit and CADD
  • Solid understanding of design and engineering includes industry practices, construction methods, codes, technology, and preparation of contract documents
  • Experience integrating large complex projects with multi-disciplinary functions or designers - preferred

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture is required
  • Advanced degrees are desired
  • Professional License desired

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $105,100.00 - $140,900.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
