How will you contribute to our magical experience?

The System Engineering & Integration team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help design, build, and deploy an automated integration platform that enhances testing across complex backend systems supporting Disney's media metadata pipelines. This role involves developing scalable and dependable backend applications in Java and/or Python, leveraging cloud technologies (AWS) and orchestrating workflows with tools like Temporal. You'll contribute to system reliability, data flow optimization, and performance monitoring. As part of a fast-paced, cross-functional team, you’ll work through the full software development lifecycle, translating requirements into high-impact backend services while driving innovation and becoming a key stakeholder in critical engineering solutions.

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Design and implement scalable automated validations within a service-focused framework.
  • Apply cloud services to create and sustain dependable infrastructure for high-availability systems.
  • Collaborate with backend development teams to improve code quality through unit tests, automation, and code reviews.
  • Participate in the full application lifecycle, solving complex challenges and delivering robust solutions.
  • Identify test coverage gaps and work with project managers to prioritize roadmaps.

What we need from you to be part of this story:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of professional software development experience with strong backend engineering skills.
  • Proficiency in Java and Python.
  • Experience with streaming data frameworks and building cloud-based applications using AWS.
  • Hands-on experience with Temporal, Kubernetes, GitHub, and Datadog.
  • Ability to design, develop, and maintain APIs and backend services.
  • Advanced level of English.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience as a software test engineer (is a plus).
  • Background in the media streaming industry (is a plus).

How will you contribute to our magical experience?
