Role Overview

The Distribution Supervisor position at PepsiCo's Mokopane Bakery exists to optimize secondary distribution performance, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries to customers. You will lead a team of Delivery Drivers and Assistants, managing end-to-end operations from loading to invoicing. Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day duties will include optimizing vehicle routing and scheduling for cost efficiency, overseeing distribution center operations like loading, delivery debriefs, and claims processing. Track daily KPIs, analyze deviations, and implement corrective actions to hit targets.

  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and vehicles, coordinating services with fleet teams.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and 100% EHS compliance.
  • Manage Proof of Delivery (PODs), invoicing, and pallet control to eliminate write-offs.
  • Control overtime and absenteeism through effective planning.
  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders on delays and performance.

Service & Quality Focus

Achieve 95% service levels, conduct daily inventory health checks, and manage stock rotation to prevent expirations. Report cut cases monthly with loss tree analysis and uphold housekeeping standards.

People Management

Lead your team with performance management, fostering a healthy IR climate and limiting contract labor use.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed, you need supervisory experience in distribution, logistics, or food & beverage sectors. Proficiency in KPI tracking, routing software, and data analysis is essential. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are key, along with knowledge of South African health, safety, and food regulations.

  • Matric certificate or equivalent; tertiary qualification in logistics/supply chain advantageous.
  • 2-5 years in distribution/supervisory roles.
  • Familiarity with HHC systems, Stratopod, and warehouse SOPs.
  • Ability to manage teams and projects effectively.
