This individual contributor role, reporting to the Senior Director of Solution Consulting, embeds you directly with U.S. government agencies to design, prototype, and deploy secure, AI-powered e-signature workflows that transform how agencies manage, understand, and act on agreements. You'll pioneer DocuSign's Intelligent Agreement Management platform in FedRAMP-compliant environments, building end-to-end solutions with LLMs for semantic search, custom extractions, and workflow automation. Expect to travel up to 50% to collaborate on-site, iterating rapidly amid legacy constraints, ATO processes, and evolving security rules. Your work will operationalize generative AI—using tools like LangChain and RAG pipelines—to optimize e-signature use cases, while sharing frontline insights to shape DocuSign's product roadmap. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy end-to-end AI-enabled applications spanning backend microservices, data pipelines, vector databases, and modern front-end interfaces for intelligent agreement management
• Apply an experimentation mindset to prototype concepts, iterate on customer feedback, and develop reusable AI libraries, prompts, and scaffolds to accelerate DocuSign federal engagements
• Implement solutions compliant with FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST, and agency security standards for government procurement and citizen-facing e-signature workflows
• Operationalize LLM capabilities including custom extractions, semantic search, and workflow intelligence within FedRAMP-authorized environments
• Iterate on AI/ML solutions with advanced LLM prompting, tuning, and optimization tailored to DocuSign agreement use cases
• Embed directly with federal customers on-site or virtually to adapt solutions, navigating legacy systems, ATO processes, and data classification rules
• Translate customer requirements into technical designs, manage execution, and deliver field-tested insights to shape DocuSign's Intelligent Agreement Management platform
• Collaborate with sales, partnerships, and product teams to drive secure, AI-powered e-signature and contract lifecycle innovations
• Ensure seamless integration of DocuSign e-signature into enterprise ecosystems while maintaining compliance and security
• Champion DevSecOps best practices to deploy reliable, scalable AI solutions in high-stakes government environments

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on full-stack development
• 4+ years in customer-facing or embedded engineering roles, ideally in federal or enterprise environments
• Hands-on experience across backend (Python, Node.js, Java), frontend (React, Angular), and API design, including building AI-native systems in production
• Deep expertise in LLM models, generative AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, RAG pipelines, vector search, prompt chaining)
• Proficiency in DevOps practices including CI/CD, containerization, IaC, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Strong understanding of FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST, or similar security frameworks for compliant deployments
• Willingness to travel up to 50% for client engagements in the Washington, D.C. metro area

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with U.S. federal agencies, system integrators, or GovCloud (AWS/Azure) environments
• Active or eligible for U.S. government security clearance (Public Trust, Secret, or Top Secret)
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, CISSP, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, or Azure Security Engineer Associate
• Hands-on MLOps experience with Vertex AI, Azure ML, or DevSecOps in regulated settings
• Integration experience with SaaS platforms like DocuSign, Salesforce, ServiceNow, or API management tools (Apigee, MuleSoft)
