We're seeking a skilled Generative AI Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team, directly contributing to critical AI initiatives that enhance employee and developer productivity while driving business growth. As an individual contributor reporting to the Senior Director, Data Platform & ML Operations, you'll design, develop, and deploy GenAI applications solving complex enterprise problems in our e-signature and CLM platforms. In this role, you'll build evaluation pipelines for LLMs, develop advanced retrieval and agentic systems using CrewAI and Glean, fine-tune models for scalability, and automate RAG pipelines integrated with DocuSign's secure infrastructure. You'll enable conversational AI tools like QueryGPT for insights from agreements data, support buy vs. build decisions, and conduct research to pioneer GenAI applications in intelligent agreement management. Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business needs into secure, governed solutions that unleash trapped data from documents, boosting productivity and innovation. What you bring: A Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related field with 3+ years experience (Master’s) or 5+ years (Bachelor’s), proven GenAI expertise in chatbots, copilots, and agents, deep knowledge of LLMs, RAG, NLP, orchestration frameworks, Glean, vector DBs, Python/React, AWS, Docker/K8s, and MLOps. Preferred: Cloud certifications, AWS/Azure proficiency, strong collaboration, and ability to demystify AI for all stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement evaluation pipelines for LLMs capturing metrics like performance, latency, cost, hallucination, helpfulness, harmlessness, quantization, and fine-tuning
• Develop advanced Textual Information Retrieval, classification, and clustering algorithms using SpaCy, NLTK, and Hugging Face
• Enable secure GenAI business use cases on DocuSign infrastructure with emphasis on security, governance, and intelligent agreement management
• Build autonomous and workflow-based agents for e-signature and CLM applications using CrewAI or similar frameworks
• Drive implementation of Glean no-code agentic platform, creating custom AI assistants to boost employee and developer productivity
• Fine-tune GenAI models and implement prompt engineering best practices, including centralized prompt library and RAG automation with vector databases and knowledge graphs
• Support buy vs. build evaluations and conduct research to advance GenAI for real-world DocuSign use cases like QueryGPT and enterprise ChatGPT
• Collaborate with business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions, document processes for maintainability, and integrate with structured data systems
• Develop conversational tools for business insights from agreements data, enhancing DocuSign's e-signature and CLM platforms
• Contribute to innovation in AI initiatives driving employee productivity, developer productivity, and business growth at DocuSign

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree, or 5+ years with a Bachelor’s degree
• Proven experience developing and deploying GenAI-powered applications such as intelligent chatbots, AI copilots, and autonomous agents
• Strong understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), transformer architectures (e.g., BERT, GPT, T5), RAG, embedding techniques, knowledge graphs, and LLM fine-tuning/training
• Proficiency with LLM orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, CrewAI) and direct experience implementing Glean interactive search platform
• Hands-on experience with vector databases (FAISS, Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma), Python/Bash, React/Streamlit, and AWS services (VPC, IAM, MWAA, ECS)
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD, Git, Terraform, and MLOps for GenAI projects from ideation to deployment

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more certifications in Cloud, Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or GenAI
• Proficiency in AWS and Azure cloud platforms
• Strong collaboration skills in cross-functional teams (Product, Design, ML, Data Engineering)
• Ability to explain complex GenAI concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with copilot tools like GitHub Copilot or Cursor
