We're seeking a passionate Machine Learning Engineer (individual contributor reporting to the ML Engineering Manager) to pioneer state-of-the-art solutions leveraging text mining, deep learning, content understanding, and document processing. You'll prototype ML models that power personalized, automated experiences throughout the DocuSign Agreement Cloud, transforming how people create, commit to, and manage agreements. In this role, you'll research emerging NLP/ML/DL technologies tailored to contractual data, deploy production models, and collaborate with Product Management to define success metrics. With your expertise in Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, and ML concepts, you'll enhance language-agnostic clause recognition—even for Cyrillic and double-byte languages—driving DocuSign's leadership in e-signature innovation. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the ML team to research, test, and evaluate existing and emerging NLP/ML/DL methods for contractual and legal data in DocuSign's Intelligent Agreement Management platform
• Apply NLP techniques to maintain and extend rule-based, supervised, and unsupervised methods for e-signature and CLM solutions
• Implement ML/DL algorithms for NLP tasks including Named Entity Recognition, POS tagging, Parsing, Sentiment Analysis, Clustering, and text prediction
• Develop deep understanding of DocuSign's product architecture, software development lifecycle, code management, and release processes
• Understand, assist, and improve existing training data maintenance and enrichment processes for agreement analytics
• Deploy machine learning models to production using cutting-edge methods, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security for global users
• Work closely with Product Management to translate requirements into robust, customer-agnostic ML success metrics
• Prototype innovative ML models leveraging text mining, deep learning, and document processing to deliver personalized experiences in the DocuSign Agreement Cloud
• Contribute to never-before-seen solutions that handle global challenges across cultures, legal jurisdictions, and millions of daily users
• Stay ahead of industry trends to enhance DocuSign's leadership in e-signature and contract lifecycle management

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, deploying, and monitoring machine learning and deep learning solutions
• Proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, spaCy, or scikit-learn
• Experience programming in one or more of the following languages: Python, C#, Java, C/C++
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Statistics, Econometrics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent computational field
• Demonstrated experience with machine learning concepts including Training, Validation, Testing, Precision/Recall, and Bias/Variance tradeoff
• Hands-on experience extracting, cleansing, and manipulating large, diverse structured and unstructured datasets
• Experience deploying ML models to production environments at scale

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing and deploying sequence-based Deep Learning models
• Familiarity with latest LLM technologies such as GPT, Gemini, LLaMA
• Experience in Computer Vision applications
• Strong desire to stay ahead of industry trends with commitment to continuous learning
• Experience assisting with language-agnostic contract clause recognition, including Cyrillic (Russian) and double-byte languages (Japanese, Korean, Chinese)
