As Manager, SRE Engage in Engineering, you will lead and mentor a team of Site Reliability Engineers ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of core systems powering DocuSign's e-signature and CLM platforms. This people manager role reports to the Senior Manager, Site Reliability Engineering, and involves driving SRE best practices like SLIs/SLOs, post-mortems, and automation to minimize toil while supporting high-stakes, global-scale services. You'll foster operational excellence, participate in on-call rotations every 4 weeks, and collaborate cross-functionally to embed reliability into every stage of the software lifecycle. Your impact will span team development—through 1:1s, performance reviews, hiring, and retention—to technical leadership in monitoring, incident response, disaster recovery, and infrastructure optimization. Influence architectural decisions for maintainable, scalable systems, track reliability metrics, and contribute to the SRE organization's long-term vision. Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of high-performing Site Reliability Engineers focused on DocuSign's intelligent agreement management platform
• Foster a collaborative team environment promoting continuous learning, ownership, and innovation in e-signature reliability
• Drive implementation of SRE best practices including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and post-mortems to ensure 99.99% uptime for critical services
• Oversee design, development, and maintenance of scalable, highly available infrastructure supporting global e-signature and CLM solutions
• Implement and optimize monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions for proactive issue resolution in high-volume agreement workflows
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and on-call rotation (every 4 weeks) with effective cross-team communication
• Reduce operational toil through automation, tooling, and disaster recovery strategies for mission-critical systems
• Collaborate with development, product, and engineering teams to embed reliability into the software lifecycle for DocuSign's innovative platforms
• Influence architectural decisions ensuring systems are reliable, scalable, and maintainable for billions of agreements
• Define, track, and report on key reliability metrics contributing to the long-term SRE vision at DocuSign

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a similar role
• 5+ years of experience in a leadership or management position, leading SRE or infrastructure teams
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with SRE principles, methodologies, and tools including SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, and post-mortems
• Experience in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, Ruby)
• Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, tracing, logging, and performance management technologies (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Splunk, DataDog)
• Knowledge of security best practices in a cloud environment
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, performance tuning, and optimization
