About the Role

Join our innovative Organization Management team as a Software Engineer, where you'll ensure customers seamlessly access purchased features across our expanding suite of DocuSign products. Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager as an individual contributor, you'll collaborate with product managers, core engineers, and business teams to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services that drive our mission to unleash business-critical data trapped in documents. Leverage your expertise in production-scale web applications to implement RESTful and gRPC APIs, microservices, and secure integrations on cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP. In this hybrid role (minimum 2 days/week in-office), you'll deliver enterprise-quality code via Agile practices and CI/CD pipelines, mentor peers through pair programming and knowledge-sharing, and tackle highly visible projects modernizing feature management for single and multi-account customers. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain modern backend platform services and integrations for DocuSign's Organization Management team
  • Deliver secure, performant, scalable, and reusable enterprise-quality code using Agile practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Implement and maintain RESTful and gRPC APIs, microservices, and integrations with external services to support e-signature and intelligent agreement management
  • Collaborate through code reviews, pair programming, and remote communication to ensure scalable, secure, and highly available code
  • Mentor team members on mastered skills and share knowledge to foster team growth
  • Stay current with software engineering best practices and apply them to increase quality, efficiency, and productivity
  • Apply strong analytical skills to investigate, debug, and update unfamiliar codebases
  • Work closely with Product Management, Core Engineering, and business teams to deliver customer value faster
  • Contribute to simplifying and modernizing feature packaging and management for single and multi-account DocuSign customers
  • Ensure customers receive purchased features across DocuSign's growing suite of products in a scalable and secure manner

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related engineering field, or equivalent industry experience in a software organization
  • 5+ years of experience implementing and maintaining backend services, including RESTful or gRPC API endpoints using modern languages and frameworks
  • Professional experience with server-side development and production web applications at scale
  • Experience with microservice architecture, design, and implementation on cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Experience writing logging, monitoring, alerts, and dashboards to detect and diagnose live production issues
  • Strong understanding of secure, scalable backend platform services

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing in C#
  • Experience working in an agile development environment with CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience integrating with web-based products and external services
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
