In this individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Manager, Software Engineering, you will own the full software development lifecycle—design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance—of product features in Docusign's e-signature and CLM products. Primarily using the Microsoft technology stack (C#, .NET, ASP.NET) hosted on Azure and on-prem data centers, you'll also leverage open-source technologies like Redis, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems and APIs using C# and .NET technologies, hosted on Microsoft Azure and on-prem data centers
• Leverage Azure services like Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Blob Storage, and SQL/NoSQL Databases to build scalable, secure, cloud-native solutions for intelligent agreement management
• Build and maintain microservices-based architectures using C#, ASP.NET, and Azure technologies to power DocuSign's e-signature platform
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate seamlessly with frontend teams to deliver innovative user experiences
• Ensure backend infrastructure is optimized for scalability, high availability, and performance in handling billions of agreements
• Proactively address performance bottlenecks, scalability challenges, and reliability issues in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, proactively aligning on designs, communicating roadblocks, and driving solutions forward
• Own all aspects of the software development lifecycle including testing, deployment, and maintenance of product features
• Guide and mentor other engineers through design and code reviews, modeling engineering best practices
• Contribute to process improvements, team effectiveness, and innovation in DocuSign's entrepreneurial culture

Required Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science or similar field of study
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering using OOP languages and design patterns (e.g., C#, Java, C++)
• 1+ years of hands-on experience building and operating cloud-native microservices and APIs at scale
• Experience with SQL databases (e.g., Azure SQL Database, SQL Server) and NoSQL solutions (e.g., Cosmos DB)
• Experience with service reliability, incident response best practices, and high-availability systems
• Proficiency in designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software features through the full development lifecycle
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft technology stack (e.g., C#, .NET, ASP.NET)
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS cloud platforms
• Past exposure to full-stack development and UI technologies (e.g., React, JS) and UI-facing APIs (e.g., GraphQL, gRPC, REST)
• Experience with Enterprise SaaS software products, particularly in e-signature or agreement management
• Familiarity with open-source technologies like Redis, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch
