We're seeking a Software Engineer for our Globalization Engineering team, primarily based in Seattle, Washington. This small, high-impact team enables all DocuSign engineering groups to build global-ready products, directly influencing how our e-signature and CLM solutions are embraced worldwide. As an individual contributor reporting to the Senior Manager, Engineering, you'll invent tools and processes that ensure seamless internationalization and localization, fostering user satisfaction across diverse languages and cultures. This hybrid role (minimum 2 days/week in-office) is perfect for recent or soon-to-graduate talent passionate about language, culture, and innovation—no sponsorship available. In this role, you'll independently implement services and UIs deployable across complex projects, craft consistent i18n for UIs and APIs, develop localization services for multiple stacks, and proactively identify translation risks from engineering decisions. Your contributions will enhance DocuSign's platform for global scale, supporting features that power agreements in every corner of the world. Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a small development team to invent tools and processes used by other engineers within DocuSign
  • Implement services and user interfaces independently that can be deployed across several complex projects
  • Build solutions for consistent internationalization of user interfaces and APIs
  • Write services that support localization operations for various technology stacks
  • Identify risks to translations due to engineering shortcuts and language asymmetry
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to create global-ready products for DocuSign's Intelligent Agreement Management platform
  • Contribute to e-signature and contract lifecycle management (CLM) features that serve over 1.5 million customers worldwide
  • Leverage innovative approaches to enhance globalization engineering for seamless user experiences across 180+ countries
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality, scalable solutions for global product adoption
  • Support the team's mission to accelerate business processes through culturally sensitive software design

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Graduation date between June 2024 and December 2025
  • Exposure to core computer science principles, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design
  • Professional English proficiency
  • Authorized to work full-time in the United States without need for sponsorship
  • Passion for language, culture, and worldwide user satisfaction
  • Ability to work hybrid in Seattle, Washington (minimum 2 days per week in-office)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building projects using TypeScript (Java, C#, Scala, or Python also acceptable)
  • Proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • Familiarity with modern development tools including Git, CI/CD concepts, and automated testing
  • Fluency in a second language in addition to English (especially Japanese)
  • Academic, personal, or internship projects demonstrating software engineering skills
