Join our Finance & Accounting team as a Sr. Accountant in this remote, individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting, and contribute to the financial integrity that powers our rapidly growing SaaS platform. In this role, you will own the accounting and reconciliation for capitalized software and leases, ensuring compliance with ASC 350-40 and ASC 842 amid our innovative product developments. You'll maintain project subledgers, prepare journal entries for software capitalization and lease activities, and perform detailed analyses to support decision-making. Collaborating with Finance, Real Estate, and Engineering teams, you'll drive accurate asset classification while supporting efficient month-end/quarter-end closes, audits, process improvements, and special projects like ERP enhancements tied to our intelligent agreement management platform. Key Responsibilities

  • Own accounting and reconciliation processes for capitalized software and leases, ensuring full compliance with ASC 350-40 and ASC 842
  • Maintain and reconcile projects subledger, including detailed rollforwards of capitalized software assets
  • Prepare and post journal entries for software capitalization, impairments, and lease activities such as additions, modifications, and terminations
  • Analyze and reconcile capitalized software activity for accuracy and completeness per ASC 350-40
  • Evaluate project information from Engineering and Finance teams to recommend capitalization decisions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Real Estate, and Engineering to ensure proper asset classification and cost capitalization
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close processes with timely journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses
  • Assist in process improvements, internal controls, and SOX compliance initiatives
  • Provide accurate and timely support for internal and external audit requests
  • Participate in special projects, including ERP system updates, policy enhancements, and intelligent agreement management platform integrations

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Active CPA certification or equivalent
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Big 4 or large regional public accounting firm experience required
  • In-depth understanding of US GAAP, including ASC 350-40 and ASC 842
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a large corporation or SaaS technology company like DocuSign
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and internal controls
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion or other major ERP systems
  • Proven track record in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment
