Responsibilities

  • Follow established safety procedures and guidelines to ensure personal safety and the safety of all distribution center associates.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on various equipment, including lift trucks, pneumatic systems, material handling equipment, and hydraulic equipment, according to established procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical/electronic problems with equipment, networks, logic controls, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Motor Drives (Servo and VFD) and external Input / Output (I/O) devices.
  • Diagnose electrical problems using technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, electronic/mechanical schematics) and diagnostic tools (e.g., multi-meter, laptop).
  • Assist other maintenance technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment.
  • Initiate and implement new procedures and create designs to keep present equipment/systems operating at optimal efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of different systems within the distribution center.
  • Maintain an organized work area and promote a safe working environment within the Maintenance department.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals and groups verbally and in writing to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Complete work orders, records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures.
  • Operate material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure all workmanship is of the highest quality and meets company standards.
