Assistant Site Manager, DashMart Kitchens at DoorDash

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of hourly Kitchen Associates and Shift Leads with compassion and commitment to inclusivity, including hiring, coaching, developing team members, and building a safety-first culture.
  • Serve as a leading change agent for DMK, helping team navigate new food concepts and growth projects, and tackle onsite escalations with cross-functional partners.
  • Drive results for the kitchen through effective scheduling, ensuring par levels are met, recipes are accurately executed, and best practices are deployed.
  • Maintain sound judgment and unimpaired performance to ensure safe work environment with high-risk kitchen equipment and fast-paced food production, engaging cross-functional partners as needed.
  • Analyze performance metrics, identify root causes of issues like prep gaps or order quality, implement solutions, refine processes, and partner with Site Manager and cross-functional teams to execute new initiatives and improve operations.
  • Coach team to maintain recipe accuracy, food safety, and storefront availability, collaborating with central teams for tools, training, and support to achieve excellent quality outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a medium/high-volume fast-casual or full-service restaurant environment.
  • 1+ years of experience leading teams, including hiring, scheduling, coaching, and performance management.
  • Hold (or are willing to get) a ServeSafe Manager certification and set high standards for food safety and cleanliness.
  • Hands-on leader who motivates teams of 5+ employees to perform and grow.
  • Take ownership and thrive in fast-changing, startup-style environments where no task is too big or small.
  • Analytical, data-driven, and comfortable using Excel or Google Sheets to make decisions.
  • Regularly scheduled late-night and weekend hours.
  • Comfortable flexing between kitchen and fulfillment operations, and understand how culinary execution and order flow connect to overall site metrics like accuracy, quality, and efficiency.
  • Have (or can quickly learn) a working knowledge of inventory management systems (IMS), product flow, and fulfillment best practices within a multi-operation site.
