Senior Software Engineer, Backend Frameworks at DoorDash

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain foundational components to enable DoorDash Engineers to excel at backend engineering
• Play a foundational role in guiding the future of DoorDash’s software development strategy, by building, extending, and operating a central platform used by all DoorDash engineering teams
• Be at the forefront of developing new technologies and have the opportunity to leverage and contribute to open source tech
• Contribute to cross-functional projects by designing large scale systems with engineering excellence, long-term maintainability, and risk in mind

• Build frameworks and libraries as part of a central platform that powers backend applications across all engineering teams at DoorDash
• Work closely with engineers, technical product managers, and engineering managers across all parts of the engineering organization to deliver large and impactful initiatives

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Java or Kotlin (bonus points for Golang and Python)
• Comfortable working on distributed systems and platform components, and have demonstrated effectiveness in building them at scale
• Apply a product mindset to platform problems and feel accomplished enabling others
• Curious and dive deep into different system architectures
• Solve problems using software to automate and avoid creating toil for others
• Organized and excellent written and verbal communicator

Salary Range

$1,30,600 - $2,85,000 USD annually
