Job Description – Functional Consultant SAP S/4HANA Finance (CO – Controlling) – Greenfield Project

We are looking for a Functional Consultant – SAP Controlling (CO) to join our SAP S/4HANA Greenfield implementation team. The consultant will be responsible for designing and implementing controlling processes in Cost Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Costing, and Profitability Analysis (CO-PA). The role also involves contributing to Business Process Reengineering (BPR) to optimize performance management and cost transparency leveraging S/4HANA innovations.

Responsibilities

Act as subject matter expert for SAP S/4HANA Controlling (CO) processes.

Facilitate BPR workshops to challenge current practices and design best-in-class controlling solutions.

Gather and document business requirements for cost controlling, profitability, and reporting.

Configure SAP S/4HANA CO modules, including:

Cost Center Accounting (CCA) and Internal Orders (IO).

Product Cost Planning and Cost Object Controlling (manufacturing costs, variances, WIP).

Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) – account-based and/or costing-based.

Integration with FI, MM, SD, PP, and EPPM.

Support management reporting and contribution to performance dashboards (SAC if applicable).

Collaborate with Finance and Business teams to align controlling processes with corporate requirements (IFRS, internal reporting standards).

Design and execute test scenarios (unit, integration, UAT) and support data migration for CO objects.

Provide end-user training, documentation, and knowledge transfer.

Deliver project documentation: blueprints, functional specs, test scripts, cutover plans.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.

5+ years of experience as a Functional Consultant in SAP CO.

Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Controlling (Greenfield implementation preferred).

Expertise in at least two of the following:

• Cost Center Accounting (CCA) / Internal Orders
• Product Costing (standard, actual, WIP, variance)
• Profitability Analysis (CO-PA)
• Activity-Based Costing

Knowledge of integration points with FI, MM, SD, PP, and EPPM.

Solid understanding of management accounting, cost allocation methods, and profitability analysis.

Experience in Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and process harmonization.

Excellent analytical, communication, and facilitation skills.

French citizenship

Familiarity with Agile project methodologies and SAP activate

Nice-to-Have

Experience with SAP Group Reporting or Central Finance (cFIN).

Familiarity with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for management reporting.

Industry experience in multinational environments with complex tax requirements
