Project description:
The project is an IoT Edge initiative that captures and persists thousands of sensor readings per second from ~10 pipeline-laying and drilling vessels directly at the edge. Its aim is to ensure real-time availability offshore, with data synchronized onshore to deliver high-fidelity time series to engineering, operations, and data science teams for predictive analytics and simulations.
 

Essential Job Functions:

• Technical ownership of operational tasks

• Maintenance of the existing application, with possible new development either within the current application or as part of a new module.

• working as a part of technical team (4 Operations team members + Delivery Manager)

• operational tasks management, code reviews, maintenance of documentation and tickets

• Communication with the client.

• Technical consulting.

• Ability to step in for any team member if needed, considering relatively small team’s size

Basic Qualifications:

• knowledge of .NET C# 6.0 and 8.0 – Console applications and ASP.NET Core Web APIs using the MVC pattern. This is a must-have, as ~90% of the current application is written in C#

• Very good written and spoken English

• Solid problem solving and analytical skills

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Autonomous, strong ownership and drive to get things done

Other Qualifications:

• knowledge of Python 3.10/3.11+ – Console applications and web APIs using Flask (potentially migrating to FastAPI).

• Asynchronous programming

• Azure – Experience with services like Data Factory, Blob Storage (standard and ADLS Gen2), IoT Hub + IoT Edge, EventHub, Logic Apps, Container Registry, and Azure DevOps. (IoT Hub + IoT Edge are relatively rare in our company, so familiarity with them is not expected — they can be learned on the job)

• Bash and working proficiency with Linux.

• Kubernetes / Docker.

• Familiarity with both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Couchbase) databases, and strong SQL skills.

• Comfortable working with JSON data types
