About the Role

Join eBay's Delivery Engineering team as a Full Stack Platform Engineer in Bengaluru, where you'll shape the future of developer productivity for a global ecommerce leader serving millions of buyers and sellers across 190 markets. Part of eBay's Global Technology organization, you'll build and operate the AI/ML-powered eBay Developer Platform, including continuous delivery systems and no-code/low-code tools that empower engineering teams to deliver software faster and more reliably in the fast-paced ecommerce landscape. In this role, you'll design and develop challenging full-stack solutions to eliminate developer friction, enabling high-velocity development, testing, and releases that directly impact eBay's Engineering Velocity initiative. Collaborating across geographies, you'll tackle large-scale distributed systems, event-driven applications, and platform innovations that transform how engineers build marketplace features for authentic, enthusiast-driven commerce. Key Responsibilities

• Partner with colleagues and customers across functions and geographies to enhance developer productivity
• Identify friction points in developer experience and design platform-level solutions for eBay's ecommerce ecosystem
• Design and develop full-stack solutions across front-end and back-end systems for the AI/ML-powered eBay Developer Platform
• Build scalable, reliable platform capabilities enabling high-velocity software delivery, testing, and release
• Align stakeholders, propose improvements, and deliver end-to-end solutions for Engineering Velocity initiatives
• Assess risks, analyze trade-offs, and define mitigation strategies in distributed systems
• Contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence within eBay's Global Technology team
• Communicate effectively across teams to drive alignment and execution on continuous delivery platforms
• Operate eBay’s Continuous Delivery platform and AI-driven no-code/low-code tools used company-wide
• Solve complex engineering challenges to transform how eBay engineers build for millions of buyers and sellers

Required Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• Strong understanding of design patterns, layered architectures, and core CS fundamentals including data structures and algorithms
• Strong experience with JVM languages such as Java or Kotlin
• Proficiency with Spring Boot for building REST APIs
• Proficiency in a scripting language such as Python or Shell
• Proven experience architecting backend systems and designing/operating large-scale, reliable, distributed systems
• Experience building event-driven, high-performance applications
• Knowledge of modern DevOps principles and continuous delivery practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Frontend experience with React or Angular
• Experience with Kubernetes and Tekton
• Exposure to MCP servers, AI agents, LLMs, and ML models
• Familiarity with DORA metrics, Flow Framework, or developer productivity platforms
• Experience in e-commerce or large-scale marketplace platforms
