Collaborate with passionate innovators to push boundaries in ecommerce technology, owning the full development lifecycle from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy complex, distributed systems handling over a billion daily requests for eBay's global ecommerce platform
  • Collaborate with experts to devise innovative strategies solving complex problems in payments and risk
  • Craft architectural blueprints for new and existing systems, driving discussions and critical decisions
  • Take full ownership of software development lifecycle in fast-paced CI/CD environments
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, leading by example through code reviews and technical guidance
  • Engage with product managers to transform business requirements into robust technical solutions
  • Analyze large codebases to ensure scalability, maintainability, and alignment with long-term strategy
  • Build highly scalable and reliable solutions using data-driven insights for better user experiences
  • Enhance Global Payments and Risk products with advanced technologies for eBay's marketplace
  • Navigate ambiguous challenges in high-impact ecommerce systems serving 190+ markets

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 10+ years of experience
  • 7+ years of experience building large-scale distributed web platforms/APIs
  • 5+ years as an architect or technical lead responsible for end-to-end product scope across multiple domains
  • Proven ability to create, drive, and execute technical strategy and roadmap with balanced trade-offs
  • Experience aligning stakeholders and teams using documentation like Architectural Decision Records (ADRs)
  • Deep end-to-end system design knowledge from front-end to backend, databases, and infrastructure
  • Track record of independently leading complex technical initiatives across multiple teams to launch

  • Hands-on experience with GraphQL
  • Experience developing and driving adoption of technical best practices organization-wide
  • Passion for improving team velocity and code quality
