About the Role

Join eBay's SEO Graph team as an MTS2 Services Engineer in Bengaluru, where you'll architect the linking graph database that powers SEO-optimized landing pages for eBay's massive global e-commerce inventory. With hundreds of millions of products listed across 190+ markets, this role focuses on building scalable graph infrastructure to track relationships between category, model, and landing pages, ensuring buyers from Google, Bing, and eBay navigation discover relevant content effortlessly. You'll innovate at the intersection of graph technology and e-commerce search, driving immediate business value through high-performance data models and automated pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the linking graph database tracking relationships between SEO-managed pages
• Optimize graph schema and data models for high performance on complex queries and large-scale datasets
• Develop automated pipelines to ingest, normalize, and update page metadata and link relationships from multiple sources
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs or microservices for efficient graph querying by internal tools and dashboards
• Implement scalable indexing, caching, and partitioning strategies for rapid traversal and analytics
• Architect and maintain scalable graph-database infrastructure to support dataset growth in eBay's global marketplace
• Define and oversee health monitoring, maintenance routines, and troubleshooting for high availability
• Establish data-integrity frameworks including indexing, partitioning, and validation for accurate link relationships
• Drive capacity planning and forecasting for seamless infrastructure scaling
• Lead software modernization efforts like upgrades, migrations, and architectural enhancements
• Mentor and onboard junior engineers on backend development, data modeling, and SEO engineering
• Align engineering deliverables with cross-functional SEO initiatives and eBay's business KPIs

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of software design and development experience in backend services
• Production-grade coding expertise in Java and Python/Scala
• Strong experience with graph databases such as Neo4j or Amazon Neptune
• Strong fundamentals in Data Structures, Algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming, and Software Design for graph-based architectures
• Experience solving complex problems involving graph data models and pipelines
• Passion and commitment to technical excellence in graph database solutions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ETL processes, data validations, and custom data processing tasks
• Knowledge of scalable indexing, caching, and partitioning strategies
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices development
• Background in SEO engineering or e-commerce search optimization
• Experience with automated data pipelines for metadata ingestion and normalization
