About the Role

eBay, the global e-commerce leader powering millions of buyers and sellers across 190+ markets, is seeking a People Experience GCC Lead for its rapidly growing Global Capability Center in Bengaluru, India. As a proactive HR Generalist and team leader, you will be the onsite first point of contact, managing the full employee lifecycle from onboarding to exit, while establishing the local People Operations team. This role ensures efficient, compliant HR operations that align with Indian regulations and eBay’s innovative marketplace culture, fostering an inclusive environment where bold ideas thrive and economic opportunities are created worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and continuously improve the new hire onboarding process for seamless integration into eBay’s global e-commerce platform
  • Partner with talent development to deliver engaging experiences helping new hires learn eBay’s marketplace business and culture
  • Manage end-to-end employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, transfers, promotions, and exits
  • Maintain accurate employee data in Workday HRIS and administer local benefits like health insurance, provident fund, and statutory programs
  • Serve as primary HR contact for employee relations, resolving issues through thorough investigations and providing performance management guidance
  • Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws and adapt global eBay HR policies to local GCC context
  • Champion eBay’s culture, drive local employee engagement initiatives, events, and wellness programs
  • Support annual performance management cycle and coordinate training needs with Learning & Development
  • Establish and develop the onsite People Operations team for the Bengaluru GCC
  • Handle HR documentation, statutory records, and support audits
  • Deliver employee relations training to leaders and foster inclusive high-performance culture
  • Act as liaison with benefits team and line managers to align HR operations with eBay’s global objectives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in an HR Manager role, preferably in a multinational technology, e-commerce, or shared services environment in India
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to Bengaluru, India, and work onsite at least 3 days a week
  • Strong working knowledge of Indian labor laws and statutory compliance requirements (e.g., Shops and Establishment Act, PF, ESI, Gratuity, POSH)
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team of HR professionals
  • Proficiency in Google collaboration tools and HRIS platforms (specifically Workday)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (MBA/PGDM) in Human Resources
  • Direct experience working in a Global Capability Center (GCC)
  • Experience supporting a rapidly scaling organization
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or other relevant HR certification
  • Experience in e-commerce or technology sector HR operations
  • Background in multinational shared services environments
