About the Role

eBay is seeking an experienced Product Manager for its Tax Platform to design and drive innovative solutions within the Payments Tax Platform, supporting millions of buyers and sellers across 190+ global markets. This role focuses on spearheading initiatives that streamline, automate, and integrate tax operations for eBay's ecommerce ecosystem, ensuring compliance while enabling go-to-market efficiency. The ideal candidate thrives in solving complex multi-geography tax challenges, balancing innovation with regulatory adherence in a fast-paced technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Define tax product vision and roadmaps across technology components for eBay's Payments Tax Platform
• Set product prioritization balancing near-term deliverables and long-term platform investments
• Co-lead Agile scrum teams as Product Owner to complete tax product roadmap with clear achievements
• Synthesize market changes, technology improvements, and regulatory updates into practical tax platform enhancements
• Partner with internal stakeholders (tax leaders, legal, compliance, finance) and external customers for global viewpoints
• Develop compelling multi-year roadmap leveraging tax objectives, operational pain points, and eBay business needs
• Communicate product updates and progress to executives, teams, and customers
• Act as subject matter expert on tax regulations, providing guidance across eBay teams
• Identify new opportunities from customer research, competitive analysis, and industry trends in ecommerce tax
• Streamline, automate, and integrate tax operations to drive process improvements and measurable impact

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in product management or software development, preferably for eCommerce/payments products with a large user base
• Tax expertise is a must, with strong grounding in tax concepts (e.g. direct & indirect taxes, regional tax obligations)
• Experience working with International markets and developing products for multiple geographies
• Strong technical background to understand and contribute to engineering and data architecture design
• Knowledge of audits and regulatory frameworks (e.g. SOX)
• Solid financial and analytical abilities to translate complex business issues into product requirements
• Proven track record of delivering successful products in global tax strategies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in eBay or similar global ecommerce marketplace platforms
• Background in payments tax platforms supporting multi-geography operations
• Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams including legal, compliance, and finance
• History of driving process improvements and measurable impact in tax operations
• Experience creating learning plans to test hypotheses and drive KPIs in agile environments
