Leverage Spark SQL, Python, and Big Data tools to automate processes, build Tableau dashboards for real-time break monitoring, and maintain critical SLAs like T+1 resolutions, all while contributing to proactive risk management in our fast-paced ecommerce environment. In this role, you'll engineer scalable solutions using Hive/BigQuery for root cause analysis, develop Python-based web tools to eliminate manual efforts, and orchestrate workflows with Airflow. Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize performance and deliver payment insights that inform business decisions, supporting eBay's commitment to authenticity and economic opportunity. Your work will ensure SOX-compliant processes, providing auditors with automated variance tracking and clear documentation amid the complexities of global settlements and general ledgers. Key Responsibilities

• Execute automated reconciliations between payment gateways, banking settlements, and internal transaction records
• Maintain reconciliation SLAs (e.g., T+1, T+3 variance resolution)
• Build and monitor dashboards for break detection, aging summaries, and resolution tracking using Tableau
• Use Spark SQL queries and semi-structured data extraction for deep reconciliation pipelines
• Write scalable Hive/BigQuery queries for root cause analysis (RCA) automation
• Build web tools using Python scripts to reduce manual work and data research
• Develop and maintain recon tools and workflows using orchestration platforms
• Provide payment insights to support eBay's ecommerce business decisions and monitoring
• Present analysis findings and root cause summaries to finance controllers and auditors
• Ensure data integrity in SOX-auditable recon processes and assist with documentation
• Build lightweight ML models for issue summary, RCA, and anomaly detection
• Implement anomaly detection frameworks and deploy pipelines in scheduled recon workflows

Required Qualifications

• 4–7 years in data analytics, reconciliation, financial operations, or payments analytics
• Proficient in SQL, Hive/Presto, Python (Pandas, NumPy)
• Experience with Hadoop, Spark, or cloud-scale data platforms
• Ability to work independently with large-scale financial data systems
• Strong skill in Tableau or other BI tools
• Experience executing high-volume reconciliations in financial or payments contexts
• Familiarity with maintaining SLAs for reconciliation processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of ML algorithms for anomaly detection or classification
• Familiarity with financial data flows including settlements, payments, and general ledger
• Understanding of ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and financial compliance
• Experience with orchestration platforms like Airflow or DLS
• Knowledge of SOX-auditable processes and internal controls
