Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable solutions for distributed systems and large-scale databases to enhance performance efficiency
• Develop innovative solutions aligned with eBay’s e-commerce business needs, ensuring functionality and scalability
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Architecture, QA, Product Management, and Operations teams
• Lead design discussions, conduct code reviews, and drive team meetings to foster creative engineering
• Build technical and domain expertise to address product challenges in risk management
• Contribute to eBay’s technology direction with solutions driving measurable business improvements
• Manage seller and buyer risk on eBay’s global marketplace to safeguard transactions and ensure platform trust
• Work in an agile environment with talented peers to build world-class risk products
• Enhance risk management systems for millions of buyers and sellers across 190+ markets

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in software design and development
• Strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design
• Proficiency in Java/J2EE, Web Services, and design patterns
• Experience in object-oriented analysis and design
• Hands-on experience with industry-standard RDBMS
• Strong expertise in agile development processes
• Experience using source control like Git and issue tracking like JIRA
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field

• Familiarity with NoSQL and big data solutions
• Risk domain expertise in e-commerce marketplaces
