Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects and product managers to gather and analyze security requirements for eBay's cloud infrastructure
• Author comprehensive software design documents outlining innovative cloud security solutions
• Develop high-quality, secure code using test-driven development practices
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment of security services
• Build monitoring dashboards and alert systems to ensure performance and reliability of eBay's marketplace platform
• Fix and resolve production issues in cloud security services, providing outstanding support to internal customers
• Integrate LDAP/AD directory services into secure cloud environments supporting eBay's global e-commerce operations
• Implement zero-trust and layered defense strategies without hindering developer efficiency
• Optimize authentication, authorization, and access management for millions of buyers and sellers
• Contribute to self-healing, software-defined infrastructure that scales with eBay's business
• Ensure security services protect eBay's platform reliability and availability for 190+ markets

Required Qualifications

• M.S. or PhD in Computer Science or related field
• Minimum 3+ years of proven experience in software engineering
• Extensive experience with LDAP and Active Directory for authentication and identity management
• Proficiency in Python, Go, C++, or Java
• Strong problem-solving skills with deep knowledge of data structures and algorithms
• Solid foundation in core CS concepts including operating systems, security, databases, and distributed systems
• Experience with relational databases like MySQL and non-relational like MongoDB
• Hands-on experience in Cloud Security software development such as Authentication, Authorization, Access management, or Data encryption

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in OIDC, OAuth, SSO, FIDO for Authentication and Authorization
• Knowledge of Access management including RBAC, Scope Claim based access, Policy based access
• Experience with Kubernetes customization like API Server webhooks, Custom Resource Definitions, Controllers
• Familiarity with Service mesh technologies such as Istio and Envoy
• Background in building scalable security services for e-commerce platforms
• Proven track record in zero-trust architecture implementations
