Key Responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and maintain significant features in data pipelines, ML processing, and service infrastructure
• Optimize software performance for required throughput and latency on billions of items
• Build pipelines processing billions of eBay listings and transactions using ML models
• Create low-latency services for Search and Information Retrieval on hundreds of millions of items
• Craft sound API designs and drive integration between data layers and customer-facing eBay applications
• Design and run A/B tests in production to measure impact of new functionalities
• Work with managers, peers, and Product Managers to scope projects and features
• Develop technical strategies considering goals, timelines, and business impact
• Lead cross-team efforts owning business problems in eBay's Product Knowledge system
• Participate in knowledge sharing, teaching and learning across the organization

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
• 4+ years of software design and development experience in backend services and/or data pipelines
• Solid foundation in Data Structures, Algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming, and Software Design
• Production-grade coding experience in Java, and Python/Scala
• Experience designing and operating Big Data processing pipelines such as Hadoop and Spark
• Experience handling complexities in production software systems
• Passion and commitment for technical excellence
• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying Machine Learning models in Big Data pipelines
• Knowledge of Search and Information Retrieval systems at low latency
• Experience with A/B testing in production environments
• Familiarity with knowledge graphs and product data systems
• Background in e-commerce or marketplace platforms
