About the Role

Join eBay's SEO Graph team as a Senior MTS, BE Engineer in Bengaluru, where you'll architect the linking graph database powering SEO-optimized landing pages for eBay's massive global e-commerce marketplace. With hundreds of millions of products listed across 190+ markets, this role focuses on building scalable graph infrastructure that connects category and model pages, enabling buyers from Google, Bing, and on-site navigation to discover inventory effortlessly. You'll innovate at the intersection of search engine optimization, big data, and backend engineering to drive traffic, enhance user experience, and fuel economic opportunity in eBay's enthusiast-driven commerce platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the linking graph database tracking relationships between SEO-managed pages
• Optimize graph schema and data models for high performance on complex queries and large-scale datasets
• Develop automated pipelines to ingest, normalize, and update page metadata and link relationships from multiple sources
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs or microservices for efficient querying of the linking graph
• Implement scalable indexing, caching, and partitioning strategies for rapid traversal and analytics
• Architect and maintain scalable graph-database infrastructure to support dataset growth
• Define and oversee health monitoring, maintenance routines, and troubleshooting for high availability
• Establish data-integrity frameworks including indexing, partitioning, and validation
• Drive capacity planning and forecasting for seamless infrastructure scaling
• Lead software modernization efforts like upgrades, migrations, and architectural enhancements
• Champion mentorship and onboarding, sharing best practices in graph modeling and coding standards

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
• 8+ years of software design, architecture, and development experience in backend services and/or data pipelines
• Solid foundation in Data Structures, Algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming, and Software Design
• Architectural expertise in production-grade systems using Java, Python/Scala, JavaScript
• Strategic design and operational leadership of large-scale Big Data processing pipelines (Hadoop, Spark)
• Proven ability to resolve complex architectural challenges in production software systems
• Executive-level communication and collaboration skills for influencing technical direction
• Passion and commitment for technical excellence

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with graph database technologies like Neo4j or Amazon Neptune
• Background in SEO engineering and landing page optimization for e-commerce platforms
• Expertise in ETL processes, data validation, and custom data processing at massive scale
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices, and scalable indexing/caching strategies
• Leadership in software modernization, upgrades, and migrations
• Experience mentoring engineers in graph modeling and SEO-focused development
