About the Role

In this pivotal role reporting to a Software Development Manager, you'll drive high-performance backend development, lead efforts to reduce platform fragmentation, and integrate innovative features that boost user experience and eBay's competitive edge in e-commerce. Key Responsibilities

• Drive development of high-performance backend systems for eBay's payment ecosystem
• Ensure reliability and smooth integration into complex payment infrastructure
• Lead initiatives to reduce payment platform fragmentation and improve transaction efficiency

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in backend software development with expertise in payment systems or related financial services
• Proven ability in architecting and scaling backend systems to accommodate substantial user and transaction growth
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python
• Knowledge of cloud computing and microservices architecture
• Experience in managing tasks with agile methodology
• Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Experience handling advanced technical projects independently
