About the Role

Join eBay's Frameworks team as a Senior Platform Engineer in Bengaluru, where you'll build and maintain the JavaScript frameworks powering all user-facing web interfaces for the world's leading ecommerce marketplace. Serving millions of buyers and sellers across 190+ markets, you'll develop the Node.js Developer Platform and MUSE, a lightweight React-based framework for internal tools, enabling eBay engineers to deliver seamless shopping and selling experiences. Collaborate with US-based counterparts to execute the product roadmap, ensuring robust, scalable platforms that drive innovation in eBay's global operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and roll out features for Node.js Developer Platform and MUSE React-based framework powering eBay's web interfaces
• Provide direct support to eBay developers, debugging issues and triaging requests via Slack channels
• Manage monthly releases, Node.js runtime upgrades, and software upgrades for scalable e-commerce platforms
• Enhance software upgrade tooling and support CI/CD pipelines with NPM, Docker, and Jenkins
• Integrate frameworks with eBay's critical systems including SSO, cloud services, logging, metrics, and security
• Conduct performance testing to ensure high-speed user experiences for millions of global buyers and sellers
• Ensure platform security through regular open-source upgrades in eBay's marketplace ecosystem
• Collaborate with US-based Frameworks team to deliver product roadmap for developer platforms
• Work with modern web technologies like Webpack, Vite, and React to innovate eBay's frontend infrastructure
• Enable fellow eBay engineers to build efficient user-facing web interfaces for 190+ markets

Required Qualifications

• 2-4 years of professional experience in software engineering
• Strong expertise in JavaScript, Typescript, Node.js, and React
• Knowledge of web technologies including Webpack and Vite
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
• Experience with a range of developer tooling and workflows
• Experience developing REST and GraphQL APIs
• Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills
• 3-5 years of experience preferred for Senior Platform Engineer role

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting developer platforms in a large-scale e-commerce environment
• Familiarity with Node.js runtime upgrades and monthly release management
• Background in integrating frameworks with SSO, cloud services, logging, and security systems
• Knowledge of performance testing and open-source security upgrades
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using NPM, Docker, and Jenkins
• Prior work on React-based frameworks for internal tools
