The EHS Advisor, Central Canada, reports directly to the EHS Director, North Region. This pivotal role focuses on developing and implementing comprehensive EHS solutions for Cardinal Health's assets in Mississauga and Vaughan. Your mission: manage, mitigate, and eliminate EHS risks to protect employees, facilities, and surrounding communities. With a blend of leadership (35%), hazard control and compliance (35%), injury prevention (20%), and education (10%), this position demands a proactive, strategic mindset in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Drive the global EHS strategy by partnering with operational leaders to craft site-specific annual plans, standardize programs, and share critical insights. Provide expert support during regulatory inquiries, natural disasters, and significant incidents.
Lead hazard assessments and risk mitigation planning. Ensure adherence to company and provincial regulations, analyze EHS metrics for continuous improvement, and assist in budgeting for risk reduction. Maintain accurate reporting on injuries, illnesses, and sustainability metrics while responding to agency inquiries and conducting audits.
Guide management through injury investigations, case management, and third-party recommendations. Develop business resiliency plans and lead EHS efforts during continuity events.
Coach management on EHS duties and promote a diverse, inclusive workforce.
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, with advanced degrees or certifications like CRSP or EP highly valued. You bring at least four years of EHS experience, deep knowledge of provincial regulations, and workers’ compensation standards. Success requires collaborative leadership in matrixed settings, fostering trust, ethical behavior, and self-direction. Excel in analytical problem-solving, clear communication, and creative, cost-effective solutions. Technical expertise in ergonomics, industrial hygiene, safety, environmental management, and incident investigation is essential.
