Position Summary
Sonoco’s Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is a selective 24-month pathway for recent graduates to become future business leaders. This full-time Electrical Engineer Emerging Leader role in our Metal Packaging division at the Chestnut Hill, Tennessee facility offers hands-on experience, personalized leadership development, coaching, and networking. Tailored for those passionate about automation and control programming, ELP empowers you to shape your career, contribute from day one, and grow into a value-driven leader.
Key Responsibilities
ELP associates focus on core objectives including:
- Technical Skills Training: Safety, Quality, Scheduling, Customer Satisfaction
- Leadership Training: Supervisory skills, Performance Management, Mentorship
- Business Insights: Accountability, Execution, Risk Taking, Budgeting
- Culture Integration: Communication, Collaboration, Innovation
Expect relocation flexibility and rotating/late shifts in a manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
We seek driven candidates with:
- Interest in automation of control programming
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Sciences, Technology, or Business (by Dec 2025/May 2026)
- Manufacturing internship experience preferred
- Proven leadership
- Desire for manufacturing work
- Technical aptitude and strong interpersonal skills
