Position Summary

The Electrical Engineer II or III role at our Moundsville, West Virginia facility offers a dynamic opportunity to support critical natural gas infrastructure. You'll provide hands-on expertise for electrical and instrumentation systems at compressor stations and processing facilities. This position involves troubleshooting complex voltage systems, leading projects for reliability improvements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer at Williams, your role will encompass a wide range of technical and leadership duties:

  • Perform moderately complex assignments requiring technical evaluation, innovation, and judgment while prioritizing customer satisfaction and operational goals.
  • Work independently on mid-sized projects supporting natural gas operations, including troubleshooting low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems.
  • Support electrical equipment outages and maintenance for switchgear, VFDs, MCCs, and PDCs.
  • Lead and participate in commissioning and start-up activities for new or modified facilities.
  • Conduct standards and code compliance evaluations, developing projects to address deficiencies in line with the National Electric Code and best practices.
  • Utilize computer modeling, data analysis tools, and electrical drawings (P&IDs, one-lines, schematics) for problem-solving and solution development.
  • Coordinate and review arc flash studies, grounding, and power system protection.
  • Mentor and train I&E technicians on electrical fundamentals, planning, and scheduling.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, interpret customer needs, and interface with consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of safety requirements, company policies, and governing agency guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned to enhance asset reliability and operability.

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Electrical Engineer III

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution, or Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering Technology with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Minimum of 4 years of industrial experience in electrical engineering.

Electrical Engineer II

  • Same education requirements as Engineer III.
  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial experience in electrical engineering.

Other Requirements

  • Proficiency in multiple engineering specialties and ability to handle rugged outdoor fieldwork with travel.
  • Strong understanding of industry requirements, safety protocols, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication skills for presentations and team leadership.
