The Electrical Engineer III/Senior - PI Project Development role at Williams in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a high-impact position for experienced professionals passionate about electrical engineering in the energy sector. You'll lead the design and optimization of electrical systems powering critical infrastructure like pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities. This role emphasizes integrating advanced technologies such as automation, real-time monitoring, and energy storage to boost efficiency and cut costs. Safety is paramount, with responsibilities including arc flash mitigation, fault detection, and strict compliance with standards. Manage complex projects from concept to completion, collaborating with teams to align solutions with business goals. Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical systems and power distribution networks supporting pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities. Provide technical expertise in power distribution, electrical schematics, and system layouts for new construction and facility upgrades.
Champion advanced technologies like automation, real-time monitoring, and energy storage to enhance performance and reduce operational costs. Drive efficiency and innovation across Williams' operations.
Implement robust safety measures including arc flash mitigation and fault detection systems. Ensure all electrical systems and projects comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards such as NEC, NEMA, API, and IEEE.
Manage complex engineering projects from concept to completion, meeting timelines, budgets, and business objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions for internal and external needs. Mentor junior engineers to foster growth and continuous improvement.
Senior Level: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university, or Bachelor’s in Engineering Technology with P.E. license and 8 years of experience in natural gas, data centers, or related industries. Preferred: P.E. License, Master’s in Electrical Engineering.
Level III: Same as Senior but with 4 years of required experience.
Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with safety as a top priority. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC skills. Expertise in reviewing arc flash studies and implementing improvements. Working knowledge of electrical design codes (NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE). Preferred: PLC experience, project management, and familiarity with Pre-FEED, FEED, or EPC processes.
