Role Overview

As an Engineer in Application Development & Maintenance, you will play a pivotal role in Cardinal Health's Information Technology function. This position focuses on developing, enhancing, and sustaining software systems, particularly those handling iPrice and pharmaceutical pricing processes like contracts, customer attachments, GPOs, and buying groups. With a minimum of 6 years of experience, you'll work in cross-functional teams using Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices to deliver robust, scalable solutions that drive business value.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day will involve applying comprehensive technical expertise to complex projects. Key responsibilities include:

• Performing configuration and coding to develop and maintain end-user applications, databases, and integration systems.
• Building and deploying containerized applications using Helm Charts on Kubernetes in GCP or AWS clouds.
• Exposing and consuming REST APIs with standards like SOAP, XML, WSDL, and SQL for seamless integration.
• Troubleshooting complex interfaces involving multiple systems, including ETL, APIGEE, DataStage, Dell Boomi, and MFT platforms.
• Implementing CI/CD automation with tools like Jenkins, Concourse, ArgoCD, Terraform, Maven, and GitHub.
• Collaborating with business leaders to assess needs, conduct maintenance, and write Functional Specification Documents.
• Contributing to Agile methodologies and DevOps practices for efficient delivery.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed in this role, you need:

• 6+ years of experience in application development and maintenance.
• Hands-on expertise in Java API frameworks like Spring Boot or Spring MVC.
• Proficiency in containerization (Docker, Helm, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (GCP/AWS).
• Strong integration skills with REST/SOAP APIs, SQL, Oracle, Groovy, IntelliJ, and GitHub.
• Working knowledge of integration tools: ETL, APIGEE, DataStage, Dell Boomi, MFT.
• Native understanding of pharmaceutical pricing processes (contracts, GPOs, product pricing).
• Experience with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and troubleshooting multi-system interfaces.
• Ability to develop innovative solutions independently with general guidance.
