Role Overview

CrowdStrike is seeking an experienced Engineer II for our NG-SIEM Product Group, focusing on the LogScale platform within the Language & Runtime Team. Based in Aarhus, Denmark, this full-time role involves advancing the LogScale query language and its execution pipeline. You'll tackle hard engineering problems in a highly distributed system designed for massive scale. Join a collaborative, distributed team passionate about innovation, where you'll become a go-to expert on LogScale's language and architecture. With team autonomy from ideation to deployment, you'll ensure high-quality features through automated tests, manual testing, and production monitoring via LogScale dashboards.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you'll work on cross-team platform initiatives, scoping, designing, and developing new features to solve open-ended problems. Key responsibilities include extending the LogScale query language, optimizing performance of existing functions, and scaling the backend in Scala to handle growing ingest loads with high availability. You'll communicate technical decisions through design documents and talks, provide expertise on the query language, and collaborate via code reviews, pairing, and guidance. Additionally, monitor released features, troubleshoot production issues on customer deployments (on-prem and cloud), and research new technologies to maintain best-in-class cost structures.

Daily Impact

Expect to juggle pragmatic tradeoffs between short-term delivery and long-term goals, contributing to broad technical leadership in a friendly, trustworthy team environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed, bring a passion for distributed systems and curiosity about live system performance. Required experience includes software development with fluency in functional and object-oriented programming, the ability to pick up new languages quickly, and a track record of technical leadership.
